november // goals

I can’t believe October is already done. How is that even possible?

What happened to 2015?

October wasn’t the best month. There were definitely some great highlights (like this beautiful fall trip to Mount Rainier or the lovely rainy day at the pumpkin patch), but between being sick, jury duty, and just generally bring stressed about nothing and not sleeping well, I’m ready for a fresh start this month.

For November, I really want to focus on taking better care of myself and being productive. This month, I aim to:

{go to the gym 3x a week}

If I end up going more than three times, awesome! I really have been slacking on my gym routine the past couple of months and want to get back into my workout groove. And yes, Odessa, this means lifting weights. I don’t really know how I fell off the lifting-weights-wagon, but now it just seems so hard. I’m ready to get my ass back in shape for some winter hiking!

{make one new recipe every week}

I’ve mentioned before: I’m a very routine eater. If it’s not broken, why fix it? Because there are so many delicious foods to try. Why else would I have bookmarked folders on my phone of new meals to try our a binder full of Cooking Light and Eating Well recipes plucked from magazines my mom passes along to me?

{manage my stress}

I get stressed out easily. I have always been a very high-strung girl. Lately, I’ve been just kind of brushing my stress aside and ignoring it instead of handling it and relieving myself from it. This month, I’m going to make more time for myself to relax, whether its exercising, taking a bath (with one of the tons of bath bombs I have waiting for me), reading, baking, whatever. I need to slow down sometimes and let myself chill.

{eat less processed foods}

And more fruits and veggies. I eat a lot of produce already, but I’d like to work on replacing some of the processed things (crackers, chocolate, whatever) with fruit or preferably, veggies. I have been eating like garbage lately and I can feel it all throughout my body. I am in need of some fresh, healthy food this month.

{take more photos}

I have a new lens coming in the mail on Tuesday! I’m really excited. It’s a 50mm f/1.8 stm. This month, I want to challenge myself to taking more photos, especially outside.
