october // what I’m feeling this month

October is my favorite month. I love when it starts getting dark out a little earlier and the temperature starts to descend. There’s all the excitement of the holiday season beginning. Pumpkins pop up at every store and the lure of baking and snuggling up with a fuzzy blanket to watch netflix is pretty irresistible.

Here are a few things I’ve really been enjoying lately:

This white chicken chili is the best. I love using shredded rotisserie chicken breast to make it even quicker to make. Even better paired with some fresh, sweet cornbread with butter.

this candle! okay, I was pretty skeptical when my boyfriend picked this up to being home with us. But somehow, it works. The candle gives off a warm, subtle, earthy scent that isn’t sweet like so many candles.

trader joe’s pumpkin spice k-cups. I don’t like pumpkin spice lattes. This coffee, however, has nice subtle pumpkin spice flavors without all the syrupy sweetness of the PSL. I like to add just a little bit of almond milk, no sweetener, and enjoy a nice hint of fall flavors in my morning cup (or two) of coffee.

Forever obsessed withthis kombucha. After (almost) beating my first cold of the season, I’m trying to stay healthy for the rest of the winter. A little bit of a challenge when working with kids, but there are definitely things you can do to help prevent getting sick again. The high content of probiotics in kombucha is said to boost your immune system, which can help you get over your cold quicker! Plus, it tastes delicious. The trilogy flavor is my favorite!

you haven’t listened to Marina before, you really need to. I’m so excited to be seeing her tonight in Portland! The first time I saw her was right after my 21st birthday. This is one of my favorite songs of hers.
